It’s a new week and you’re staring at the computer, tablet or phone, wondering where you need to begin. You’ve been saying “I’m going to get more done this week. Really, I will!”
One of the best things in Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen is the work flow diagram, especially the part that asks “Will it take less than 2 minutes?” The answer: Do it! Likewise, from the article “26 Mini Productivity Hacks For A Simple (But An Awesome) Day” – item 13 is “Do It Now!”
Develop a new habit of getting small, simple tasks done as they come to your attention. Don’t put it off or create a new note or task in your favorite application. Get it done and out of the way (and out of your mind). Then enjoy the rest of the day knowing you have got some things done!
“Much of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they’ve started.” – David Allen
