Resolutions vs Goals #blogging101

Lots of people set New Year resolutions. Lots of resolutions get left undone. This year, make a clear distinction between what’s a wish list for the new year and what are real, concrete goals you’ve set for yourself.

  • Write down five specific goals for 2015. Use your favourite notebook, journal or app where you can easily come back to them on a regular basis.
  • Prioritize these goals on your list.
  • Set a realistic date for each goal.

In the next post, we’ll look at how to better understand these goals in order to achieve them.

Start off 2015 right, starting with clearly defining your goals, long and short term. I’ll go first:

What’s this blog all about?

Facundia facultas is about being more productive, gracefully. Having been in the IT field for 20 years now (started part-time in 1995), I’ve been to lots of seminars, webinars, workshops and forums on how to get more done in less time. With mobile devices and apps so easily accessible, there are more tools available than ever before. This site is a way to comment and share on this (never ending) journey.

Short term goals: Spend the last 15 minutes of each work day to schedule the top tasks that need to be done tomorrow.

Long term goal: Put together an easy to use set of apps to keep notes and track projects. Use these tools to meet each daily goal (see above).

It’s a new year and most everyone comes up with a list of resolutions that may or may not be kept.  My biggest goal is to really, really get out and exercise more, as suggested in this article:
